Broadcast Media

BROADCAST MEDIA

For ages 11+. In the age of modern technology, human beings have more access to information than ever before. Broadcast media is a program that delves into the various types of media and challenges students to question the sources of the information they receive. Students visit news and radio stations, learn the various types of broadcast media and equipment used, and explore career paths in the field. The 6-10 week program meets once or twice per week for two to three hours. The ASTROcurricular approach is results driven with a curriculum designed to increase the number of participants setting and achieving program related goals. Each student is evaluated on their comprehension of learning objectives. ASTRO Broadcast Media program is aligned with common core and can be offered as an Expanded Learning Opportunity (ELO).
